Three Things Thursday: June 4, 2015

This week for Nerd in the Brain’s Three Things Thursday blogging challenge:

Three things that made me smile this week (two without accompanying photos) and some random photos (related to Thing 3.)

Thing 1.  My wonderful co-worker, “C,” found out today she got the transfer/promotion she’s been working towards.  I can’t imagine work and life without her, but I’m so proud of her and thrilled for her new opportunity.

Thing 2.  I am so excited that we’re going to the Blairsville (Georgia) Scottish Festival and Highland Games next weekend.  They had me at “Border Collie Demonstrations,” which are so amazing to watch.  Plus, kilts, bagpipes, parades, highland dancing and maybe a wee bit o’ haggis on a stick.

Thing 3.  We got new phones for work, and for some happily bizarre reason, they got us all iPhone 6’s.  I am totally psyched to have use of a better camera than my elderly Galaxy III.  To celebrate, I downloaded a new app, Pixlr-o-matic, and I’m having a ton of fun playing with all of the cool filters .

    • I am so going to miss her! My job’s going to be a lot harder without her great organizational skills! And the border collies are so amazing to watch – I can’t wait to see them next week!

  1. I got a new phone this week too . Galaxy 2 to Galaxy 5 making my head spin but in a good way. The pictures you’ve taken are lovely. Enjoy the Highland games. We’re off to my nephew’s wedding today – full Scottish kilted affair in Edinburgh. I’m sure you’ll approve 🙂

    • I’m so excited about the games! I ordered a “sport kilt” to wear in my tartan. I know it’s not “official” women’s attire, but it’s like a cute (not too short) mini skirt in Modern Ferguson.

It’s so not fair for the boys to have all the fun and we just get a sash. 😦

I hope you and your family have a fabulous time at the wedding! Wishing a lifetime of love, happiness and prosperity to the couple!
