Instant Grat Instagram: Sunset Porn

I warned you last week that I had a new topic I would pull out whenever the writing genes wouldn’t zip up all the way.

I call it Instant Grat Instagram. {Lamely} bringing you my favorite moments from what is currently my favorite social media platform.  Hope you enjoy!

Today: Sunset Porn

Sunset porn. Pure and simple.

My loft has a spectacular view of the Atlanta skyline and I get some amazing sunsets.

“The pale stars were sliding into their places. The whispering of the leaves was almost hushed. All about them it was still and shadowy and sweet. It was that wonderful moment when, for lack of a visible horizon, the not yet darkened world seems infinitely greater—a moment when anything can happen, anything be believed in.”

Three Things Thursday: January 22, 2015

My response this week to Nerd in the Brain’s “Three Things Thursday” Challenge:

Share three things from the previous week that made you smile or laugh or appreciate the awesome of your life.

I still can’t believe it! Last week I received this notification from WordPress.

My 100th post! It’s only taken me four years of truly apathetic blogging to get here.

Other snip-lets of the happy:

I have to agree with Nerd in the Brain on this one. I own an SUV, so this sight brought tears of joy to my eyes:

Holy, moly. Really, really cheap gas at the Wally World in Augusta.

And Monday’s amazing sunset after last week’s gloomy drizzle.

Photography101’s challenge today: The Natural World

Capture a moment, big or small, and pay attention to the lines and curves produced by nature.

A sudden moment, walking around a bend in the road near my Mom-in-Law’s house in Augusta, spellbound as magical flights of clouds and colors cloaked the sunset with twilight, as the chill of evening settled in.

A sky-flung veil of heliotrope brocade mirrored cloth of gold in the narrow lake, trimmed by the black lace of trees and buttoned by a diamond moon.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Sunset

WordPress is such a giver.

Concerned that I might need inspiration to blog more frequently, they have begun sending me handy daily blogging topics via email. Of course, I may have signed up for this at some point, but I’d prefer to think it’s because they care.

Who knows? Most of the time though, I blow past them as I dig through my perpetually swamped inbox, but this one yesterday caught my eye.

“Weekly Photo Challenge: Sunset”

Hmmm. We just got back from a weekend at the beach with my parents, and David took a slew of spectacular sunset photos. Okay, I’ll play! Woot! Photo credits to my amado, David Strohman.
