Cat Rule 417: The amount of unsolicited affection shown by a feline is directly proportional to the amount of black clothing you are wearing.
Corollary 1 to Rule 417: the fervency of the feline’s affection is directly relational to the cost to dry clean the black clothing item and the proximity of the occasion you next plan to wear it.
βIf a dog jumps into your lap it is because he is fond of you; but if a cat does the same thing it is because your lap is warmer.β

My husband, who likes dark clothes and is allergic to cats, was very much the preferred lap for the cat I had when we got married. She was old, and mostly white, of course. She was queen, and insisted the newcomer obey by sitting still for her. She would sink her claws in too, so he couldn’t take her off his lap until she decided to go, lol. She ended up being the only cat he’s ever liked. π

Yeah, they know who they need to βbreakβ π. If you love cats anyway, thereβs just so little sport in controlling your heart.
